Pre School News

In Pre-School this week we started our new theme of learning about ‘Mini Artists,’ for the next two weeks. The children have been exploring French artist Matisse and looking at his visual art and use of colour in groups they worked together to create a live picture using large assorted coloured shapes. Some of the children created individual pieces exploring shapes and colour with some creative results. The children have continued to enjoy the Role play stage area with Instruments. Our focus story this week is the ‘Hungry Caterpillar, which again links to our mini artist theme. At Hall time this week they played a colour corner game to help develop decision making skills and also in connection with our mini artists the children made shapes using their bodies, which linked to Matisse. On Thursday we had our Mother’s Day Celebration, with lots of mummies joining us, which was fantastic. We hope they all have a lovely Mother’s Day on Sunday. On Friday we celebrated Red Nose Day thank you to those who dressed in Red and for the donations. Our Little Wandle Letter Sound this week has been ‘c.’ In Pre-School this week we have a Happy Birthday to Anwen.

PTA Update
The committee met on Tuesday evening to plan for the events for the rest of the year.  Please support them when you can.

Bingo - A family bingo night is being held at school on Friday 24th March 2023.  The doors open at 5.30pm ready for eyes down at 5.45pm.  Tickets are available on parent pay and include a game strip per person.  Further games strips will be available from the tuck shop!  A Tuck Shop will be selling snacks, hot and soft drinks.  Please join us, Miss Pates has been practising her Bingo Calls!

Secondhand Uniform needed - Our logo uniform and summer dress stock is running low.  If you have any of these items that you can donate please leave with the office.  A sale is planned for 18/4/23 after school.

Save the Date - Benhall Infant School will be hosting the annual summer fayre on 1st July 2023.  We have booked the sunshine and rumour has it the popular soak the teacher stand will be open.  

Next Meeting - 19th April 2023 at 7.45pm - The Hatherley Pub.  All welcome.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our super resilient year 2 team, who are continuing to train for their Mini London Marathon in memory of Freddie's Daddy and Jacob's Daddy.  They have more than smashed their target of raising £100 for Winston's Wish.  Their current total is £1805 and continues to rise!

There is still time to donate by following the link - can we get them to £2000 before they hold their marathon next week.
