Dear Parents,
Oh my goodness, how did we get to the end of the school year so quickly. There have been so many fabulous memories this year and each one brings a smile! Our school is a unique place that we all love and cherish. People who visit our school often tell us they have an undescribable feeling from spending just a short time with us and that love of Benhall never leaves you. I wish you could bottle that feeling so that all of our children, staff and parents could take it with them wherever they go. The recipe is a blend of everyone's uniqueness combined with a sprinkle of awe and wonder, beautiful learning environments, enticing learning challenges, celebration and of course a touch of Purple Learning! How lucky are we to belong to something so special.
I have been chatting to the children about their favourite memories and we came up with quite a list. I wonder what you might add?
- Picking and eating blackberries
- Playing in the snow
- Trips to Benhall Park, Warwick Castle, Multi Skills and the forest
- Reading to our volunteers
- Cheering everyone on at the year 2 Mini Marathon
- Sports Day
- Visits from Father Christmas and the Easter Bunny
- Learning together
- Celebrations
- The Kings Coronation with St Marks
- Cooking with a "real life" chef
- Getting gerbils
- The Space Dome, Willow Sculpting and the Drumming Workshop
- Chinese New Year Day and World Book Day
The list could go on and on.
This week we have added more memories to our hearts. Our fabulous pre-schoolers kick-started the week with their graduation. What a lovely way to start a Monday morning. We went on "the best school trip ever" to Beechenhurst where we built dens, collected a rainbow of colour from the forest floor, told stories, created transient art work and hunted for Zog! Every single child on the trip was a credit to Benhall, showing that they are always ready, respectful and safe.
We hope to continue to add more memories before we break up on Tuesday at 2pm but in the meantime the whole team would like to thank you for your continued support and wish you a happy and safe summer with those you love.
Love from Miss Morris and team xx

Time to say Goodbye!
At this time of year there are so many lovely things planned to help us say goodbye to those we will miss when we return in September. We have everything crossed that they will pop in and say hello whenever they can!
Hwyl Fawr Mrs Hunt. Mrs Hunt is retiring on Tuesday and will be sorely missed by everyone. As a Teaching Partner and Leader of After School Club she has touched the hearts of so many during her time at Benhall. We are all going to miss her, but rumour has it she may be popping up as a volunteer next year (fingers crossed.)
So long Mrs Lloyd. Mrs Lloyd is popping over the fence with the children from year 2 and it is so lovely that she will be able to continue their learning journey with them, but also very sad for us who will try with all our might to lure her back over the fence in the future.
Goodbye Miss Warburton. Miss Warburton is switching the young for the "older" as she embarks in a new career working to support adults with dementia. We know she will be brilliant at this and they will benefit greatly from her sense of fun!
Good Luck Mr Wintle. Mr Wintle is off to university after the holidays and is very excited to be using his love of sport while furthering his qualifications. Pre-school and After School Club will not be the same without you.
Bye Bye Mr Maxted. Mr Maxted is moving on to pastures new in September. We wish you lots of luck for the future. Thank you for making us smile.
Last but not least we have to say goodbye and good luck to our WONDERFUL YEAR 2 CLASSES. You are purple learners through and through and we know you will always be amazing - keep reaching for the stars!

Pre School News
This week in Pre-School we had a ‘Child’s Choice,’ week we asked all the children what they would like to play with and the list was varied and interesting with so much to do and explore. Also every day this week both morning and afternoon, instead of an adult leading the Welcomes with Teddy Benhall a different child has been chosen to do this. It is great to see how much the children have grown in confidence and how well they know our routine’s and exactly what to do. As a team we are so proud of our Pre-School leavers and their Graduation performance and it was wonderful to see all the parents and grandparents. I would also like to say a huge thank you to my Team who have and bring unique individual skills, yet collectively create a wonderful environment for the children to learn in, so thank you. Our nominated Purple learners this week are the whole of gold and silver families, I would also like to nominate my Pre-School Team.
Have a lovely weekend the Pre-School Team.

Thank you to our wonderful PTA who once again provided a magical experience for all our children when they funded a visit from Mr Oakey.
The children enjoyed a soggy but amazing day creating a willow pod that will find its new home within the school grounds over the summer. It is wonderful to know that every child and member of staff who were in school last Friday played a part in creating this fascinating new hiding space.
It just goes to show if we all do a little we can achieve a lot!
We are sending a great big Benhall Woosh to Mr Oakey, we had a great time. https://oakeybear.co.uk/

Purple Learning Focus
The most wonderful week full of purple learning at Benhall. Our whole school trip on Wednesday to Beechenhurst lent itself so beautifully to the different purple learning skills we have. The children embraced the challenge of den building (and what superb dens we had!), celebrated each other for being able to work out the clues on the Zog trail, were respectful to the environment and persevered to get quicker on the zip wire! Just utterly brilliant!
We would like to give a special shout out to our amazing Year 2 who are finishing their journey here at Benhall with us, but we know will continue to flourish wherever they go and we know they will be able to confidently share their purple learner toolkits with others as they grow into special Year 3 children.
Over the Summer holidays, please do check in with your child about the different summer challenges they might embrace, how they can try new things, support family members, celebrate their siblings or people in the local community and of course lots of discussions on ways they can be ‘Ready, Respectful and Safe’ throughout the Summer holidays. We will be looking forward to discussing this in September 😊

Lunchtimes
As you will have seen, we have greatly improved our lunchtimes and the hour at lunchtime is now full of so many opportunities from field games, drawing, dancing, football and Playpod. This couldn’t have happened without our wonderful team of pupil supervisors. We just want to say a big thank you to Mrs Owen, Mrs Maddock, Mr Maxted, Mrs Griffin, Mrs Lloyd, Miss Warburton, Mrs Cichocka, Mrs Gowing, Mrs Farmer and Mrs Smurthwaite. We really appreciate all you do to support and help children at lunchtimes.
