Dear Parents,
We have had a wonderful short week this week that has been full of new learning. All the children have been learning about King Charles III and the forthcoming Coronation. We were really pleased to see the sun was shining on Thursday for our shared lunch with our friends at St Marks. The children enjoyed their picnic lunch followed by time to play together. Just to add to the occasion we were lucky enough to have a fly past from a C-130J Hercules, which will be withdrawn from circulation later this year.
I was thrilled to be called down to reception to see the fabulous Union Flag the children had created on their outdoor learning area. This led to discussion about when it is OK to call the flag the Union Jack and which flags from around the UK were represented. I told the children how my son, Rhys, was always very disappointed that the Welsh Flag was missing, so Toby brought in his best dragon hat to help to put that right - Rhys will be thrilled. He also helped me in assembly this morning to explain why the Union Flag does not have the Welsh Flag within it.
We hope you enjoy another bank holiday weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.
Love from Miss Morris and team xx
